STEM Roadshow

On Monday 24th April, Years 7 and 8 took part in a STEM Roadshow delivered on behalf of BAE Systems in partnership with the RAF and the Royal Navy. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and is based on the idea of teaching these subjects with an interdisciplinary and applied approach. The roadshow included three parts - Part One explored the world of drones, the technology behind them and the multifarious uses that they are currently put to and their possible uses for the future. Part Two focused on computing and the control systems that all modern technology is built around, and the final part of the show featured a very special robot that was able to perform the ancient Chinese tradition of Tai Chi.
