Modern Languages Week

From 11-15 February everything possible at GHS had a linguistic twist. Girls from the class of 2015 spoke in assembly about their languages degrees so far, and on Tuesday the Junior school performed in German and Spanish. Both assemblies included rousing performances of Shine Jesus Shine in three languages. The five different cuisines in Stocks were a big hit, with great musical accompaniment, and even live salsa dancing on Thursday! 100 people attended Monday evening’s Inspiring speakers event, and the visit from our French penfriends was a highlight, giving 50 girls the chance to practise their speaking. However, the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly Wednesday’s Linguavision, where 24 acts performed in nine languages to an audience of over 200.
