May Concert 2019

The May Concert is always a highlight of the Trinity Term but this year’s concert, involving over 200 musicians from Years 7 - Upper Sixth, was especially memorable with sensational performances. The Wind Band, String Orchestra, Big Band, Chamber Orchestra, Mathias Band and Symphony Orchestra offered a feast of music from a wide range of styles and genres, with stylish (and often witty) playing from every ensemble in front of a sell-out audience. Congratulations to all players, including Amy Collis who performed the third movement from Saint Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3: this was a mesmerising, passionate performance from soloist and orchestra. Mrs Boulton publically thanked the Upper Sixth leavers and parents for all that they have contributed to GHS Music over the past seven years; this is echoed by every teacher in the Music Department. You will be missed next year! A retiring collection for The Little Princess Trust, in memory of Ava Anthony, raised the fantastic sum of £491.35.
