Junior Carol Service

Words could never fully capture the special atmosphere at this year’s Carol Service: the sensitive re-telling of the age-old story by Year 6 made us listen and reflect the true meaning of Christmas once again. The tingling arrangement of ‘It Came Upon the Midnight Clear’ was performed with such maturity and poise by Chamber Strings. The mellifluous voices of Year 3’s ‘I Wish I Was a Shepherd’ was stunning, coupled with the clarity of singing in French by Year 4 in ‘Le Ballade de Jesus Christ’. Year 5 gave an exquisite rendition of ‘Lift Up Your Voice, Alleluia’ with trumpet solo, and Year 6’s commanding performance of three beautiful carols, each with different challenges, was sublime. Amongst the highlights were the beautiful ‘Candlelight Carol’ by Upper Choir and the jubilant ‘Rejoice and Be Merry’ by the whole of KS2 who literally raised the rafters of Holy Trinity.
