Team GB Assembly

Team GB athlete Dannish Walker-Khan joined us for an assembly this term to talk about his life, how he got into athletics and the struggles that he has faced. Dannish kept falling asleep in classes at school and getting into trouble for not paying attention. However, he went to the doctors and found out that he had Type 1 Diabetes. He then began starting to train properly at the athletics track at the age of 14. In 2013, he was part of the 4 x 100 team that broke the European U23 record and claimed Gold at the European U23 Championships. His favourite distances are the shorter ones - the 100m and 200m. Sadly, he did not go to the 2016 Olympics because of injury but hopes to compete in 2020.
